The Story of LivingArtsWisdom

I developed LivingArtsWisdom based upon both lived experience and decades of deep research, study, and practice.

Real wisdom is not just something we know—it’s something we live, breathe, and embody. My work with LivingArtsWisdom is shaped by a lifelong commitment to conscious culture creation and grounded in deep practice. The path I offer is the one I walk every day.

a living process

My journey has been one of weaving together streams of thought that, on the surface, might seem distinct—evolutionary insight, embodied movement, deep neuroculture, and the art of creative vision. I have woven a synthesis of these thought streams to energize our innate capacity to cultivate the presence, beauty, and liberated intelligence we all need as we navigate our evolutionary crisis both as individuals and communities.

LivingArtsWisdom is a living process that each individual will live in their own personal way. It asks us to think and to feel deeply, to bring consciousness and courage to our evolutionary journey together as a species. Through both my own personal experience and listening deeply to that of others, I have found that this path has its own stages of unfolding challenges and know that I can guide luminous pathfinders in navigating them.

serving cultural visionaries

In my own life, I practice Tai Chi with beginner’s mind as a way of embodying flow, resilience, and deep attunement to life’s rhythms. Through playing the trumpet, I continually rediscover the same improvisational intelligence that fuels human evolution. Although there isn’t a single musical genre that I don’t enjoy, I feel particularly energized by the many kinds of sounds that make the culture itself come alive. Lately, I’ve been listening to voices from Jordi Savall, Dave Alvin, and Maya Beiser to Chief Adjuah and Elena Pinderhughes, Ambrose Akinmusire, Robert Glasper, and Lee Morgan. But I have long found my spiritual home in John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme.

The real wellspring of my work is my own life experience. I know what it feels like to do the day-in-and-day-out work of parenting with all of its challenges, and I know what it feels like to be a grandparent. I have felt the wild edges of activist work through burnout and recovery, plunged deeply into the creative world of cinema and music and the arts and felt in my body how culture and culture makers are oppressed. I have done healing work with others under challenging conditions. My own path of consciousness and healing has unfolded over decades through many different deep practices. I know well positive disintegration and disenculturation from my own personal experience.  My work with activists, creative artists, healers, guides, parents, and elders is truly and deeply grounded in my own personal life experience.

conscious culture creation

LivingArtsWisdom serves cultural visionaries. It is my offering to those who seek a path beyond burnout, disconnection, and reactive cycles. Whether you are an artist seeking deeper creative flow and a meaningful role in creating a more vibrant culture, an activist longing for a vision beyond resistance, or a helping professional called to serve at a higher level, I am here to support you in finding your own way forward—one that is sustainable, alive, and deeply true.
